Procedure for Using your access card with the PIN verification

During times when the outside entrances to the building are locked, present your access card at the reader.

The Reader should BEEP and the light should turn from red to flashing green/red.
Enter your four digit PIN followed by the # sign (Lower right).
The door should unlock.

Procedure for Creating/Setting or Resetting Your Personal Identification Number (PIN)

If you have forgotten your PIN, or don’t know if you have a PIN, or your card fails to unlock the door when you try to use your PIN you may need to reset your PIN.

Remember when selecting your PIN it cannot start with zero. Each individual should have their own personal access PIN selected by them. The PIN selected for “UW Access” should not be the same as you use for any other personnel business. Also please do not write your PIN on your access card.

UW Police Department (UWPD) or UHS Building Staff can not tell you you’re PIN. Once the PIN is entered into the system it xxxx’s out. You must simply email a four-digit PIN code you want to use and we will set and/or reset your PIN code.

UHS staff we will be setting your PINs and adding access to your cards shortly. To setup your PIN please email access@mhub.uwpd.wisc.edu the four digit PIN you wish to use. You can use numbers 0 through 9, it just cannot start with zero. Please include your name and your access card number (the first six-digits only, i.e. 130143 11347862-1 off the back of your Access Card) in your email. This PIN will work on any campus building that requires PIN code verification and you have access too.
